Big December Project Revealed

Big December Project Revealed

This month for Praxis (the business apprenticeship program I’m in), I am working on a self-guided project. If you read my last post, you’ll know that I had five projects to choose between. I am pleased to announce that I will be going with the first option - planning my sister’s honeymoon.

The other options just weren’t speaking to me as this one did. I knew it was the right choice, because not only did I feel genuinely happy thinking about doing it, but a little scared of the challenge! I also decided to add a side project - tracking my sales at Skin Deep (where I currently work) until my last day there - December 22nd, 2018. I most likely won’t post anything about this side project until revealing my final results in a blog post at the end of December. Now, back to the honeymoon project.

After hearing about their budget, I asked my sister and her husband a series of questions to get a good idea of what they are looking for. They decided that an all-inclusive resort is the way they would like to go. I told her that I will give her three options to choose from by December 21st, 2018. Here are the parameters that the trip has to fit into:

Budget: $4,000

Location: Anywhere besides Mexico and the Dominican Republic

Length of stay: 5 nights (dates not included for their privacy, but it will take place this winter)

Activities available: Snorkeling, Jet Skiing, Spa

Restaurants on site: At least 4

I am truly excited about this project - even the challenges that come with it. I anticipate having trouble staying under budget and choosing one great option over another. There are so many all-inclusive options these days, and I feel a bit overwhelmed just thinking about it. When the stress starts to creep in, I think about the end result - saving my sister weeks of planning and being a part of an incredible vacation. I truly believe that travel inspires and encourages us to be motivated in our home and work lives.

This project will showcase my ability to organize and plan, along with my ability to sell one of the three options. Stay tuned for more details to come, as I will post at least one more update before the final three itineraries!
