Make the Most of Your Weekends to Enhance Your Work Week

I’m a big believer in having fun. Everyone views “fun” differently, which might be the beauty of the word. However, I think most can agree upon this - no matter what you do for fun, it’s something that you always look forward too. Going to the beach, staying in and reading that new book, trying new food; the act of what you do doesn’t matter so much as the feeling.


For example, this weekend I did things that I love. A long bike ride, trip to a museum, challenging run, and walking downtown along a river we’re all things that I squeezed in. Not all of these produce the exact same result. After my bike ride and run, my legs hurt. After the museum, my brain felt enlarged. After the walk along the river, I was a little sunburnt.


One thing, however, was the same after each - I was happy.


If I had spent my weekend sitting on the couch binge-watching TV, I might feel caught up and able to have a decent conversation with co-workers about the newest episode of the newest show on HBO. But does that leave me feeling like my best self?


When I finish my weekends feeling exhausted and fulfilled, I know I’ve done something right.


I know that when I go into the office on Monday morning, I’ll be ready to set my eyes on the goal and get work done. I’ll be ready to give my best to my company.


And that, my friends, is what allows me to continue to enjoy my weekends. It’s the beautiful circle of the week.
